I've just been bitten(again) by the photography bug. I wasn't that serious about it before, and i stopped obsessing about it eventually. Now, with a nice spiffy camera, i'm trying to get into it again. Hopefully with better results.

It's been two years since I last made this big a decision. A lot has happened after that, met new people, said goodbye, went places, switched companies(but not jobs).

Maybe it's just time... Time to move on, time for me to move forward on everything i've planned, Time to say thank you, Time to say goodbye....

on Good Omens and Sleeping with Butterflies

Read "Good Omens" last week, the first book by Neil Gaiman I've read, and totally loved it. It was a funny take on "Revelations" and the end of the world. For me the funniest bit was his play on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, wherein War is an arms dealer. Famine is a diet guru. Pollution replaced Pestilence when he retired(because of Penicillin). Death was, well, death.

Got Tori Amos' new album from my teammates for my birthday (THANKS GUYS!!) and it's what's been playing on my car's stereo for the past week. Specifically "Sleeps with Butterflies", which relaxes me everytime I listen to it.

Anyway, I also got Neil Gaiman's "Smoke and Mirrors"(again from my Teammates) which unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to read yet.

Around a month ago our cable tv line got disconnected. Actually it wasn't the cable tv line that got disconnected but the cable internet, the tv line came in free with the internet. And no, we did not forget to pay our bills (although that happens from time to time). It was just that the service from Destiny was really crappy and so my brother decided to move to Bayantel DSL.

Well, last weekend, we got cable back (WOOHOO!), and now I can't sleep again. See, when the cable got disconnected, as soon as I finish all the meetings and calls that I need to take for the night, I head up to my room and immediately flop myself on the bed and sleep. Now that we got cable back, I stay up until God knows when, watching God knows what, and wake up right before lunch...

And now it's 2:00 AM, and I need to wake up by 5:30. FUCK....

Anyway, I've finally decided what to do on my free time to keep my sanity. Here's my list:

redecorate my room;remove all plastic furniture(i.e. monobloc chairs, monobloc table etc.)
Learn Photography
Take up cooking lessons
Learn to play the violin

I started thinking about fixing my room when I saw this huge pile of books, magazines and Gundam Models stacked on the floor of my room. So, as the first part of my redecoration, I'm looking for space to put all the junk I've collected, like a simple bookshelf at the 3ooo-4000 pesos range. I already have the design in mind. Basically, something with beech colored/styled shelves and stainless steel or chrome posts. After getting the shelf, i'll think about getting some air conditioning on my room.

As for Photography, I'm currently waiting for the next set of lessons at the Heritage library near Manila Peninsula. It's the same class Sym's taking right now, so I'll just get some feedback from her whether it's good or not.

I'm taking up this class and photography in general not because everyone's getting into it. It's actually something that I've wanted to do since highschool, unfortunately, i just didn't have the money nor the equipment to really get serious at it. And in college, i got distracted with more interesting things like Java and yeah, I still didn't have the resources for it.

As for the rest, I'm still trying to come up with the whole logistics for it. But hopefully, I do manage to get all of them done.

At long last, I've finally finished watching the last four episodes of RahXephon. What can I say, it was definitely amazing. Although there were a few (okay, a lot) similarities with Neo Genesis Evengelion, It still had enough uniqueness to it to hold out on its own. The action scenes were great. The mecha designs, while different, still kicked ass. While the story, while not quite as disturbing as Eva, had enough twist and philosophical bullshit to keep things interesting. All in All, It was almost at the same level as Eva, but not really quite there yet.

For people that haven't seen me watch anime before, I tend to watch entire episodes in fast forward. Since it's all in Japanese and I can't really understand the words they were saying, I just fast forward it to 2x the normal speed, since I can still follow with the subtitles. Anyway, While watching episode 22, I got lazy and didn't press the FF button, it was the first time I actually watched and heard the opening credits. The opening theme was titled "Hemisphere" and I really liked it. The music was definitely different from other Anime themes that i've heard; And the Lyrics were quite amazing. Here it is:

sigh.....

I've been at work for 8 hours now, and I feel like I haven't accomplished anything. Well, not really nothing, I've gone to the gym(woohoo), I’ve gone blog hopping (or blog shopping), I've read all my daily geek stuff, and I've managed to get something running for a project I'm working on, and now I’m writing this blog entry.

I miss the days when I can sit in front of my computer, and hack away at something continuously until I finish whatever it is I’m working on. Now, I get distracted real easily, be it work stuff, or just about anything.

Sigh…. I need to manage my time better.

Fuck it! I started this blog a couple of months ago and after a couple of posts,just totally forgot about it (actually forgot about the login credentials). Anyway, I guess i just got jealous of Sym's blog, so I've decided to blog again. Hopefully I would be posting at least once a week( yeah right, that's together with my promised three times a week gym sessions).
